Melissa Bivar

Co-Founder of Social Contemporâneo and the Regenerative Business Hub. With 28 years of experience in corporate sustainability, she is a consultant in strategic design based on living systems, as well as an entrepreneur and activist.

She worked for 16 years as an executive in multinational companies in the electric, oil and gas sectors, before redefining her path to focus on regenerative initiatives and new economic models. She holds a degree in Communications from FACHA, a post-graduate degree in Sustainable Business Management from UFF, and certifications from Schumacher College and Gaia Education, along with advanced studies in Regenerative Design from IDR.

For the past 14 years, she has worked as a regenerative culture designer, co-founding Social Contemporâneo and the Regenerative Business Hub. Her approach expands business modeling and network-based operations, placing the care for life at the center of organizational strategy and practice.

She is an active member of Transition Towns Brasil and REconomy, serves as an international representative for Transition Brasil and Reconomy, and is the author of the REconomy Business Model Canvas, a framework for modeling regenerative businesses. Her purpose is to transform economic relationships by integrating affection, care and justice into new business models and pathways for sustainable development.
